ACCOMPLISHMENT 1: NIYC, A U.S. DEPARTMENT OF LABOR GRANTEE, OPERATES A WORKFORCE INNOVATIVE OPPORTUNITIES ACT PROGRAM WHICH ALLOWS IT TO PROVIDE BASIC CAREER SERVICES, INDIVIDUALIZED CAREER SERVICES AND TRAINING SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS AGE 18 AND OLDER LIVING OFF-RESERVATION IN NEW MEXICO. NIYC WORKS WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES, NONPROFITS, EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS TO DEVELOP EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR ITS WIOA PARTICIPANTS. ACCOMPLISHMENT 2: NIYC PUBLISHES A NEWSLETTER (ELECTRONICALLY AND SOME LIMITED HARD COPIES) AND MAINTAINS A WEBSITE ON THE INTERNET, AS WELL AS A FACEBOOK SOCIAL MEDIA PAGE, TO INFORM THE PUBLIC ABOUT CURRENT ISSUES AND RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO TRIBAL COMMUNITIES AND OFF-RESERVATION NATIVE AMERICANS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES.
