About
GAL/YA contract AOC provides attorneys to represent children in foster care as guardians ad litem and youth attorneys. These children are the subject of abuse, neglect, or abandonment, and in the custody of the NM children, youth, and families department in the second judicial district of the state of New Mexico. Contract attorneys represent the best interest and expressed wishes of the child clients during the judicial process to protect their statutory rights, safety, and help guide a proper course of action. In 2018, the organization provided 15,921 professional hours of legal representation for 1,326 children in 922 cases.
