IN KEEPING WITH ITS EDUCATIONAL MISSION, THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORS AN AVERAGE OF TWO MEDICAL DIRECTOR WORKSHOPS A YEAR FOR PHYSICIANS AND ONE CLINICAL CARE CONFERENCE A YEAR FOR NURSES, PARAMEDICS AND PHYSICIANS. IN ADDITION, LEADERSHIP CONFERENCES ARE SPONSORED, WHICH ALSO SERVE TO MEET THE EDUCATIONAL MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION.THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES ITS 350 MEMBERS WITH A TEXTBOOK, "PRINCIPLES AND DIRECTION OF AIR MEDICAL TRANSPORT," AND AN AIR MEDICAL JOURNAL FOR USE AS A REFERENCE FOR HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS (PHYSICIANS, NURSES AND PARAMEDICS) IN THE AIR MEDICAL TRANSPORT INDUSTRY. REVISION OF THE TEXTBOOK BEGAN IN JANUARY OF 2014 AND THE 2ND EDITION WAS PUBLISHED APRIL 2015. IN THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING AUGUST 31, 2019, THREE CONFERENCES WERE HELD. THE FIRST CONFERENCE HELD WAS "MEDICAL DIRECTOR CORE CURRICULUM: PART II." THIS CONFERENCE WAS HELD ON OCTOBER 20, 2018 AT THE SHERATON GRAND PHOENIX IN PHOENIX, ARIZONA. THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 70 PARTICIPANTS WHO ATTENDED THIS CONFERENCE. THE CONFERENCE WAS SPECIFICALLY FOR PHYSICIANS/MEDICAL DIRECTORS. ITS PURPOSE WAS TO EDUCATE PHYSICIANS IN AIR MEDICAL TRANSPORT AND USED THE TEXTBOOK, "PRINCIPLES AND DIRECTION OF AIR MEDICAL TRANSPORT" AS ITS CURRICULUM. ALSO OFFERED WAS THE AIR MEDICAL PHYSICIAN SYMPOSIUM (AMPS). THIS MEETING WAS PRESENTED TO MEET MEMBER' NEEDS TO FOSTER NETWORKING AMONG MEDICAL DIRECTORS. THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 90 PARTICIPANTS WHO ATTENDED THIS CONFERENCE ON OCTOBER 21, 2018 AT THE SHERATON GRAND PHOENIX IN PHOENIX, ARIZONA. THE THIRD CONFERENCE WAS THE ANNUAL CRITICAL CARE TRANSPORT MEDICINE CONFERENCE HELD APRIL 15-17, 2019 AT THE HOTEL ALBUQUERQUE AT OLD TOWN, IN ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO. THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 260 PARTICIPANTS. THE PURPOSE OF THE CONFERENCE WAS TO PROVIDE CLINICAL EDUCATION FOR PHYSICIANS, NURSES AND PARAMEDICS WHO WORK IN THE VENUE OF AIR MEDICAL TRANSPORT.
