About this organization
Mission
To empower Nevada, especially our youth, through service to the community and education about the legal system and its history.
About
The foundation provides programs and performs outreach services to the residents of Clark County, Nevada. The outreach services include the Trial by Peers Program (TBP), the Community Services Committee, and the Liberty Bell Committee. TBP is a juvenile diversion program of the foundation in cooperation with the Department of Juvenile Justice Services, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Clark County School District Police Department. TBP is based on the youth court concept and restorative justice. This program allows first time juvenile offenders charged with misdemeanors to be tried, defended, and sentenced by their peers (teens approximately their own age). The TBP program has licensed state of Nevada bar attorneys that volunteer and mentor program participants. The Community Services Committee focuses its efforts on children in need while promoting the contributions of the legal profession in Clark County. The Liberty Bell Committee focuses its efforts on a long term project that will display public art exhibits designed to reflect on significant moments in our jurisprudence.
