Award Americorps national service funding which resulted in 390 Americorps members serving in 15 of Nevada's 17 counties for the grant year ending in 2018. Americorps members completed 218,332 hours serving the state of Nevada, and generated 573 volunteers. Americorps members served throughout Nevada in the areas of education, healthy futures, environmental stewardship, and economic opportunity. A snapshot of the impact of those members include the following: members treated 2,493 acres of public lands, 925 people received information on health insurance, health care access, and health benefits programs, 2,117 students demonstrated improved academic engagement after participating in a mentoring, tutoring or other educational program.
