The mission of Vashon Youth and Family Services is to foster a thriving community of emotionally healthy and resilient children, youth, adults and families on Vashon-Maury Island (Vashon) in unincorporated King County, Washington. Our vision is for Vashon to be an inclusive and caring island community where all flourish.

Behavioral health: VYFS enacts its mission to foster a thriving community of emotionally healthy and resilient children, youth, adults and families by providing low- to no-barrier access to individual, family, and group counseling for residents of a rural and geographically isolated island. VYFS also provides bilingual case management, free crisis stabilization, substance use disorder (SUD) counseling, and vouchers for the health needs of low income islanders. As Vashon's only licensed behavioral health agency, VYFS provided counseling and case management to over 670 people in 2019.
