Cascade Policy Institute's mission is to develop and promote public policy alternatives that foster individual liberty, personal responsibility, and economic opportunity. Cascade promotes incentives, decentralized decision-making, and market solutions to public policy dilemmas. Believing that society operates best when most transactions between individuals are voluntary, the Institute seeks to educate Oregonians and others on the value of market-oriented public policies. Cascade looks for ways to reduce the role of government in society and to maximize the role of individuals and private, voluntary for-profit, and nonprofit organizations.

Research, writing, publishing, sponsoring public speakers, providing internships to college students, facilitation of children's scholarship fund - Portland. Beneficiaries are all Oregonians.
