IN ADDITION, CIES WORKED WITH CHANNEL ISLANDS NATIONAL PARK, US FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE, AND NATIONAL FISH AND WILDLIFE FOUNDATION ON VARIOUS SEABIRD MONITORING AND RESTORATION PROJECTS INCLUDING A SONORAN JOINTLY FUNDED PROJECT TO STUDY SCRIPP'S MURRELETS AT ANACAPA ISLAND, A SPECIAL PROJUCT TO BEGIN RESTORING THE ENDANGERED DUDLEY A SPECIES AT SANTA BARBARA ISLAND, MONITORING OF ASHY STORM-PETRELS AT SEVERAL ISLANDS WITHIN THE PARK AND CONDUCTING THE THIRD YEAR OF A 5-YEAR MONITORING STUDY ON CALIFORNIA BROWN PELICANS.CIES CONTINUES TO WORK WITH THE US NAVY TO MONITOR MURRELETS AND STORM-PETRELS AT SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND.IN ADDITION WE ARE PARTICIPATING IN A RESEARCH STUDY WITH OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY FOCUSED ON THE FEDERAL AND STATE THREATENED MARBLED MURRELET.CONTINUED TO MONITOR MURRELETS AND STORM-PETRELS AT SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND FOR THE US NAVY. IMPORTANT RESULTS INCLUDED FINDING ISLAND FOX ACCESSING MURRELET NESTING HABITAT AND THE DISCOVERY OF THE FIRST-EVER LEACH'S STORM-PETREL NEST AT SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND.CONTINUED WORK WITH OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY ON A RESEARCH STUDY FOCUSED ON THE FEDERALLY AND STATE THREATENED MARBLED MURRELET. CIES IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CAPTURE OF THE MURRELETS USED IN THE STUDY. OVER A PERIOD OF 6 WEEKS CIES SUCCESSFULLY CAPTURED 80 MURRELETS FOR THE STUDY.
