Tracing roots back to 1977, our past, present and future are focused on ending the epidemic of domestic violence. What sets SafeNest apart is the commitment to treating the entire continuum of violence from prevention to protection to empowerment. SafeNest provides a discreet, safe shelter for survivors of abuse and is the only nonprofit in the Valley to provide resources to batterers to address the cycle of abuse at the root. With 10 locations in Clark County, SafeNest is strategically placed where survivors and their families need services including: emergency shelter, 24/7/365 crisis hotline, counseling, advocacy, and prevention education.

TEMPORARY SHELTER: SAFE NEST'S CRISIS SERVICES PROGRAMS (SHELTER AND HOTLINE) PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS AND THEIR CHILDREN, INCLUDING EMERGENCY 24-HOUR INTAKE, 24-HOUR CRISIS HOTLINE SERVICES, 24-HOUR ACCESS TO EMERGENCY TEMPORARY PROTECTION ORDERS (THE SOLE ACCESS POINT IN CLARK COUNTY), CASE MANAGEMENT, EMPLOYMENT COUNSELING, HOUSING ASSISTANCE, SUPPORT GROUPS, SOBRIETY SUPPORT, PARENTING TRAINING, CHILD COUNSELING, AND LIFE-SKILLS SUPPORT, IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING FOR SAFETY AND BASIC NEEDS. SAFE NEST MAINTAINS 71 BEDS IN A CONFIDENTIAL LOCATION TO PROVIDE REFUGE FOR VICTIMS TO RECOVER FROM TRAUMA AND TRANSITION TO AN ABUSE-FREE LIFE. ADMISSION TO SHELTER STARTS WITH A CALL TO THE 24-HOUR HOTLINE OR THROUGH DISCUSSION WITH A SAFE NEST ADVOCATE OR COUNSELOR. AFTER A CONFIDENTIAL INTERVIEW, SHELTER ADVOCATES MEET THE FAMILY AT A NEUTRAL LOCATION AND TRANSPORT THEM TO THE SHELTER. FOOD, CLOTHING AND ALL NECESSITIES ARE PROVIDED. AFTER THE FAMILY SETTLES IN, A SHELTER ADVOCATE IS ASSIGNED TO THE FAMILY TO HELP THEM DEVELOP A PLAN FOR THEIR STAY, INCLUDING THE OBJECTIVES NEEDED TO TRANSITION TO A NEW LIFE. SHELTER STAFF PROVIDE RESOURCES TO HELP THE FAMILY ACCOMPLISH THEIR OBJECTIVES. SHELTER STAYS VARY; THE CURRENT AVERAGE IS 70 DAYS. SHELTER CLIENTS ARE ALSO PROVIDED EMPLOYMENT COUNSELING, HOUSING ASSISTANCE, REFERRALS FOR FINANCIAL AND LEGAL AID, AND MANY OTHER RESOURCES.
