Mission
The mission of the Sierra State Parks Foundation (SSPF) is to provide critically needed financial support and advocacy to the Lake Tahoe-Donner State Parks for education, interpretation, restoration and preservation consistent with the mission of California State Parks. We fund projects and educational programs that connect park visitors with our rich natural resources and cultural heritage. Because of this work and advocacy our parks will continue to be places of education and inspiration for generations to come.
About
Education and Interpretation: Through our operation of three visitor centers and four retail sites focusing on products that enhance the visitor experience, we impact the experience of over 800,000 State Park visitors annually. We provide funding for state parks to hire professional education staff which provide programming all year. SSPF funded 14 interpretive panels and staff provided historic house tours to over 26,000 visitors and published a comprehensive Teachers Guide for the Donner Visitor Center.
