EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS -THE RESOURCE CONNECTION EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS OFFERS A VARIETY OF COMPREHENSIVE EARLY EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN BIRTH TO AGE 5. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE EARLY HEAD START, HEAD START, AND A LOCALLY DESIGNED HOME-VISITING PROGRAMS. FOCUS IN THESE PROGRAMS ARE ON THE 'WHOLE CHILD,' ENGAGING PRESCHOOL AGED CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE RESOURCE CONNECTION OFFERS PART YEAR, FULL YEAR, AND EXTENDED DAY OPTIONS. HEAD START PROVIDED SERVICES TO 145 PRESCHOOL AGED CHILDREN THAT WERE ENROLLED, OR DROPPED, OR COMPLETED THE PROGRAM FROM JULY 1, 2018 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2019.EARLY HEAD START PROVIDES INFANT/TODDLER SERVICES THROUGH CHILD CARE CENTERS, HOME VISITING FOR PREGNANT WOMEN AND FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN UNDER 3. A TOTAL OF 47 INFANTS/TODDLERS WERE ENROLLED, DROPPED OR COMPLETED THE CENTER BASED EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM, WITH 79 FAMILIES ENROLLED, COMPLETING OR DROPPED FROM THE EARLY HEAD START HOME BASE PROGRAM.THE PROGRAM RECEIVES FUNDING THROUGH FIRST 5 CALAVERAS TO PROVIDE A RAISING A READER (LITERACY BASED) HOME VISITING PROGRAM TO FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN UP TO AGE 5 AND THAT DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THE HEAD START/EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM. A TOTAL OF 32 FAMILIES RECEIVED SERVICES.IN COLLABORATION WITH CALAVERAS HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, THE RESOURCE CONNECTION PROVIDES HOME VISITING SERVICES TO PREGNANT MOTHERS, FIRST-TIME PARENTS OR PARENTS OF A CHILD LESS THAN TWENTY-FOUR MONTHS OF AGE AND RECEIVING SERVICES THROUGH CALAVERAS HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES. THE RESOURCE CONNECTION DENTAL PROJECT, FUNDED BY CMCAA (CALAVERAS, MARIPOSA COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY) PROVIDED AN INTAKE CLERK TO ASSIST ELIGIBLE INDIVIDUALS IN SIGNING UP FOR DENTAL SERVICES. DURING THE YEAR THERE WERE 9 DENTAL CLINICS PROVIDED WITH A TOTAL OF 24 INDIVIDUAL CLIENT VISITS FOR DENTAL TREATMENT.EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS ALSO RECEIVES FUNDING AND OVERSEES THE RESOURCE CONNECTION DENTAL PROGRAM FUNDED THROUGH CALAVERAS COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT. DURING THE YEAR 88 UNDUPLICATED CLIENTS RECEIVED DENTAL SERVICES THROUGH THE DENTAL PROGRAM CLINICS. SERVICES PROVIDED TO ALL AGES ELIGIBLE FOR THE PROGRAM.
