Mission

SFCASA's vision is that every child has a safe, loving home and is given the opportunity to thrive. Our mission is to transform the lives of abused and neglected foster youth by providing one consistent, caring volunteer advocate, trained to address each child’s needs in the court and the community. Through sustained and personal attention, we create positive change in a child’s life.

About

SFCASAs 336 volunteers provided one-on-one mentoring and advocacy to 341 foster youth. CASA volunteers are sworn officers of the court, trained to mentor and advocate for the best interests of foster youth in the dependency system. They advocate through court reports submitted directly to the judge overseeing the case, as well as working directly with schools, social workers and healthcare providers. SFCASA implemented a first-of-its-kind impact measurement and learning system to more fully understand the progress of each youth and the impact of its advocacy and mentoring program overall.
