Mission

Unite the world and employer future leaders through music

About

At the end of 2018, Voena finished its 24th year as a non-profit performing arts organization. With a mission to unite the world and empower future leaders through music, Voena is dedicated to providing quality musical education for children and youth ages 6 to 18 from all ethnic and economic backgrounds. Voena has a no audition policy and believes that all children with a voice and a desire to sing are welcome to join the choir. There were over 100 members of the choir in 2018 who rehearsed exclusively in Benicia. The choir continued to offer several levels of learning: preparatory level, intermediate level, concert choir I and II, and advanced creavo level. For a variation on vocal training, Voena also offers voices of rhythm (VOR) and level I and II, giving members the opportunity to learn rhythm and percussion throughout their choir experience. All levels of choir participate in weekly rehearsals and performances with the higher level of the choir given.
