Mission
The Mental Health Association of San Mateo County (MHA), enriches quality of life, restores dignity, and reduces homelessness, particularly for those affected by mental illness and HIV/AIDS. MHA strengthens hope by providing shelter, support and opportunities for socialization.
About
Community support programs - MHA provided 8114 units of social and recreational activities through the agency's county-wide Friendship Center program and more than 1,000 hours of individualized support for isolated individuals living with mental illness through the Community Friends program. MHA also started a new resident assistance mentoring program to match formerly homeless peers with newly housed individuals to help ease the transition from chronic homelessness to successful housing.
