Integrated healthcare education: The mission of Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCU) is to educate students as competent, caring and successful practitioners of integrative healthcare. The university is committed to providing excellence in academics, scholarship, service and leadership through the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, the College of Eastern Medicine, the College of Science and Integrative Health, and the School of Professional Studies. SCU offers five main degree programs. 1) Doctorate of Chiropractic degree (DC), 2) Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM), 3) Doctorate of Chinese Medicine (DACM), 4) Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences (BSBS), and 5) Master of Science: Physician Assistant. In addition to these, SCU offers certificate programs in massage therapy and ayurveda, and an accelerated science prerequisite completion program (AS). In FY1819, there were 1,523 students enrolled at SCU in the following programs. 1) 414 in DC, 2) 3 in MAOM, 3) 20 in DACM, 4) 30 in BSBS, 5) 9 in massage therapy, 6) 67 in ayurveda, 7) 871 in AS, 8) 109 in PA. A total of 121 degrees were granted during the year - 89 doctorate degrees, 29 master degrees, and 3 bachelor degrees.
