The Skeptics Society is a nonprofit, member-supported organization devoted to promoting scientific skepticism and resisting the spread of pseudoscience, superstition, and irrational beliefs. Their stated mission is the investigation of science and pseudoscience controversies, and the promotion of critical thinking.

Makes available to its members a subscription to Skeptic Magazine. Also, sponsors a monthly science lecture series at the California Institute of Technology and annual science conferences. Hosts science education field trips, such as geology tours. Educates the public about controversial claims.
