Create Now empowers youth through arts education & mentoring. We've reached 47,000 (con Sch O) youth in 23 years through music, writing, visual arts, digital media, performance, culinary arts, fashion and cultural field trips that enable young people ages 3 to 24 to build confidence and learn new skills.
About
Cultural Journeys (2290 youth), Visual Arts (612 students), Music (260 students)1) Cultural Journeys: Youth enjoyed concerts, plays, museums and unique events at premier venues, like Cirque du Soleil, Hollywood Bowl, the Grammy Museum and LA Ballet. 2) Visual Arts: All students at Camino Nuevo Charter learned visual arts, while homeless kids at Union Rescue Mission in Skid Row and San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission in Northridge loved our arts classes.3) Music: Supervisor Solis funded "Ready to Learn," impacting all Pre-K children at ELAC. Homeless kids at S.P.Y. in Venice enjoyed singing. Students at five LAUSD continuation schools learned guitar. Many committed to staying in school. (continue on Sch O for addt details)
