About

The Tri-City Hospital Foundation supports The Tri-City Medical Center (Hospital) in its efforts to provide quality compassionate healthcare to a socioeconomically-diverse population. The Foundation is committed to providing funds to the Hospital to ensure safe and effective patient care for the residents of the community it serves. DURING THE YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2019, THE FOUNDATION PROVIDED FUNDING TO THE HOSPITAL IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - The Foundation supported the purchase of ultrasound equipment used for imaging critically-ill babies. The equipment has a range of applications with premium performance portable imaging for neonatal head and cardiac and pediatric abdominal and cardiac and is ideal in emergent situations, providing fast and confident diagnoses. Cardiac Rehabilitation - The Foundation supported the purchase of cardiac monitoring system equipment that is used during rehabilitation, as well as an upgraded software package which provides seamless monitoring and capabilities to update patient information, patient safety, and for continued and future accreditation with the AACVPR system. Nursing/Staff Training - The Foundation supports hospital staff who take the initiative to pursue additional education to raise the level of patient care. It has raised and deployed funds for the betterment of education, including continuing education, higher-learning nursing degrees and safety education. Emergency Department Triage - The Foundation supported the redesign of the Emergency Department Triage (ED) Configuration. The redesign allowed the hospital to reconfigure the ED to create a Team Triage area to improve patient flow through the ED and enhance the patient experience. Since Team Triage, the ED has consistently decreased the time it takes for a patient to see a practitioner. Medical Integration Wellness and Fitness The Foundation supported the purchase of Medical Integration (MI) specialty equipment to treat patients with mobility issues, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, physical therapy challenges, Parkinsons disease and recovery from cancer treatment. Mi also benefits participants by improving their health and giving them reason to be accountable and increase their chances of recovery. Other - The Foundation supports Cancer support groups, clothes for patients with psychosocial/financial challenges, smoking cessation programs, cancer care navigator and wig fitting space improvement, aromatherapy, bus passes for families with babies in the NICU, memorials and an annual Sock and Shoe Drive.
