Mission

Wayfinder Schools offers relational learning programs that transform the nature of a high school education by providing students with the skills and experience necessary to discover their strengths, connect with their families, practice personal responsibility, and contribute to their communities, and which culminate in awarding a high school diploma from the State of Maine. We offer a home-based Passages Program for teen parents, and for students who have struggled in traditional high school settings.

About

Wayfinder School is an alternative high school serving 65 Maine youth each year. Wayfinder offered two core programs through FY18: Residential and Passages. As of July 2018, Wayfinder closed its residential program due to lack of consistent state funding for overnight programs. Wayfinder retains its Camden campus as its main office, with satellite sites in southern and Downeast Maine. The Camden facility is equipped to reopen residential once sustainable state funding is secured. Starting in July 2018, Wayfinder expanded its Passages home-based high school diploma program for teen parents to include those who typically would have been eligible for the residential program (students who struggle in traditional school settings but are not teen parents).
