Enrichment programs- First day - A reading enrichment program that encourages reading skills by giving each first grade student a new book on the first day of school, and introduces hundreds of volunteers to Bridgeport classrooms. All first grade students in the Bridgeport public schools, New Beginnings Charter School, the 2 regional magnet schools participate in First Day. Community engagement: Education forums to bring information to our community and facilitate community conversations to enable our community to discuss issues, develop solutions, and implement their ideas. Inspiration event: An annual event to recognize and reward excellent educators in the Bridgeport public schools.
