During 2017 SCORA operated 11 sanctioned outrigger racing events throughout California. On average 28 local teams and several international teams participated in each event. Through these events over 4,000 paddlers, volunteers, and community members were exposed to the challenges and enjoyment of outrigger racing competition. SCORA also hosted a coaching clinic to ensure participant teams are up-to-date on safety and risk management education.
