Prevention services provide outreach, education and prevention services to individuals considered to be at risk of getting infected or transmitting the HIV virus. Annually, the prevention dept serves over 3,400 people in our combined programming efforts. We promote and conduct HIV testing, ensure linkage to care and provide comprehensive HIV education. Currently, we have programs that focus on adolescent girls, young gay men, adult gay men, African American, Latino women and substance users. We use evidence based risk reduction models adapted to the specific needs of the population targeted.
