Mission

Creative Response to Conflict (CRC) is a non-profit organization that educates people to transform conflict into positive & constructive experiences that contribute to building a just and peaceful world. Our commitment to nonviolence & social change informs our work with young people, educators, people in prison and re-entry, and communities working to end systemic bias and inequality. We believe there are creative & constructive alternatives to deal with conflict and harm. Unlike punishment, a restorative approach breaks the cycle of violence, encourages growth & healing, & transforms communities. Our workshops & circles focus on cooperation, communication, problem-solving, anti-bias, affirmation, mediation, bullying prevention & intervention, conflict resolution, & restorative practices.

About

The nurturing inclusive community environment (NICE) program is a social and emotional support program that integrates school curricula with community-building and restorative justice techniques to improve academic achievement and mitigate school violence. NICE staff facilitate mediations, community-building circles, and one-to-one support sessions.
