Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc., (BCR) provides a safe, loving and healthy permanent home and hospice care for cats deemed unadoptable and therefore immediately euthanized by most shelters and animal control facilities - blind cats, senior cats and those that test positive for FIV or feline leukemia. Since its founding in 2005, BCR’s mission has been to educate the public about these cats and their ability to be loving family pets. Through a strong social media presence, 24-hour access cameras, regularly scheduled open houses, tours and volunteer opportunities, the BCR cats daily demonstrate to a global audience that they deserve to live.

LIFETIME CARE SANCTUARY FOR BLIND CATS AND THOSE DIAGNOSED WITH LUKEMIA AND FELINE IMMUNODEFICIENCY VIRUSES (FIV). FEED AND PROVIDE HEALTH CARE FOR THESE FELINES. EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE NEEDS OF HANDICAPPED ANIMALS. IN 2019, THIRTY-SIX ADDITIONAL AT-RISK CATS WERE WELCOMED TO THE SANCTUARY, TAKING THE TOTAL NUMBER TO OVER ONE HUNDRED. HOSTED ELEVEN OPEN HOUSES WELCOMING GUESTS FOR HANDS-ON EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES WITH THE RESIDENT CATS. HOSTED VOLUNTEER GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALS WHO WORKED ON SITE WITH THE CATS AND ASSISTING STAFF. RECEIVED THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF RECOGINITION, PLATINUM STATUS, FROM GUIDESTAR, THE PREEMINENT SOURCE FOR RELIABLE NON-PROFIT INFORMATION, AND WAS NAMED A TOP NON-PROFIT BY GREATERGOOD.COM, A PROMINENT ONLINE SITE FOR NON-PROFIT AND FUNDRAISING.
