More about this organization

Mission

To equip young Rwandans with marketable skills and entrepreneurial mindsets, enabling them to break the cycle of poverty and build sustainable lives.

About

Rwanda Rise's training center is in the epicenter of Africa’s most remarkable turnaround story. Thirty years ago, the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi tore Rwanda apart, creating a "lost generation" of youth. Remarkably, in its aftermath the nation created a neighborhood court system that processed nearly a million perpetrators with the aim of both justice and forgiveness. Rwanda’s progress is miraculous, yet the cycle of poverty threatens the safely and future of a generation of youth. Today, Rwanda Rise is helping a lost generation learn a specialized trade, such as welding, culinary arts, sewing, masonry, and hairstyling, in addition to entrepreneurship.
