IN 2019, THE IVCC COMPLETED A $15 MILLION RENOVATION OF THE INDEPENDENCE VISITOR CENTER IN ORDER TO BETTER SERVE OUR 2.5 MILLION ANNUAL VISITORS. THE "VISITOR EXPERIENCE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT" INCLUDED AN EXPANSION OF PHILADELPHIA'S BEST SOUVENIR/GIFT SHOP; NEW PUBLIC RESTROOMS; AN EXPANDED OUTDOOR TERRACE; A NEW THEATER SHOWING A NEW 9 MINUTE ORIENTATION FILM FOR VISITORS; NEW VISITOR SERVICES DESKS FOR THE IVCC AND THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE; THE "PHILLY WELCOME WALL," AN AREA WITH NINE (9) INTERACTIVE DIGITAL SCREENS; AND A NEW HERSHEY'S KITCHENS CAFE. THE IVCC HAS OVER 60 TICKET PARTNERS THROUGHOUT THE GREATER PHILADELPHIA REGION, OFFERING VISITORS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR A SEAMLESS EXPERIENCE IN GETTING INFORMATION ABOUT AREA ATTRACTIONS AND THEN BUYING THE TICKETS FOR THOSE ATTRACTIONS.
