THE SPRING MEETING FOCUSES ON THE BUSINESS SIDE OF UROLOGY, FEATURING PRIMARILY PUBLIC POLICY AND PRACTICE MANAGEMENT TOPICS. MAEF COMMITTEES MEET DURING THE YEAR TO PLAN PROGRAMS, TO MONITOR NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND OTHER MEDICAL RELATED MATTERS. REGULAR E-NEWS COMMUNICATIONS ARE SENT AND OTHER HELPFUL INFORMATION TO MEMBERS IS MAINTAINED ON THE ORGANIZATION'S WEBSITE. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES RESEARCH GRANTS TO YOUNG INVESTIGATORS AND GRANTS TO UROLOGY TRAINING PROGRAMS TO HELP OFFSET THEIR COSTS IN SENDING RESIDENTS TO MAEF SCIENTIFIC MEETINGS.THE PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL MEETING OF THE MID-ATLANTIC SECTION TO BE HELD IN SEPTEMBER OF 2017 WAS CANCELED DUE TO HURRICANE IRMA AND OCCURRED IN MARCH OF 2018. THEREFORE THERE WERE TWO MEETINGS HELD DURING THE YEAR.
