Mission
Yo Art brings technology-driven arts courses into the public schools within the boundaries of the STEAM curriculum. Our programs help students develop critical skill sets and learn the terminology integral to them to put them on the path to graduate career ready. They gain hands-on experience, develop entrepreneurial skills, and learn to think creatively and logically. We emphasize innovation, communication and interview skills so students can build their self-confidence while identifying and capitalizing on their unique talents. They graduate from each course with specific outputs that will help demonstrate their accomplishments when applying for jobs. By learning to live up to their potential, they will go out into the world ready to break down racial barriers in many professions.
About
Yo Art works at eleven public schools (mostly Title 1) in-class time approximately 20 classes per school week instructing 4th- 8th graders skills in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) related courses and also two summer programs. Presently Yo Art is impacting 1000 plus students per school year in subjects ranging from Digital Fashion Design, Coding, Adobe Photo Shop, Basic Industrial Design, Photography, and Film Making.
