Opera Columbus is dedicated to being part of healing art experiences within our community, with opera productions that range from classic to groundbreaking, reaching both new and traditional audiences. Opera is one of the original storytelling art forms and can create essential dialogue about how our community can be stronger together. We reach nearly 15,000 individuals in a traditional year through our mainstage productions and community and educational programs. Our mission is to advance the experience and the art of opera.

Productions: Founded in 1981, Opera Columbus brings the grandeur of the operatic repertoire to Columbus stages through fully-staged productions of great works and innovative collaborations. Productions in recent seasons have included Bizet's Carmen, Britten's The Turn of the Screw, and Gluck's Orphee et Eurydice. Our innovative Opera on the Edge Cabaret Series combines performance and audience engagement into an accessible, engaging program featuring young artists performing abridged, English-language adaptations of classic works in bars and restaurants. Opera on the Edge have included La Traviata, The Magic Flute, and Uncle John.
