Mission

The mission of Toledo Opera is to enhance the cultural fabric of the region by creating opera experiences that celebrate, both in the theater and beyond the walls, what is unique to opera: dramatic, passionate stories expressed through glorious music and the powerful voices of classically trained singers.

About

In 2018-2019, Toledo Opera produced three fully staged operas: Mozart's The Magic Flute, Carmen by George Bizet and the most performed American opera, The Ballad of Baby Doe by Douglas Moore. All of the performances, including student night at the opera on the final dress rehearsal night, took place at the opera's home venue, Toledo's historic Valentine Theatre. Over 200 people attended the pre-opera talk in the grand lobby prior to each performance.
