The Godman Guild Association Is An Ohio Not-For-Profit Corporation Whose Mission Is To Provide Programs That Enhance The Social And Economic Mobility Of Individuals And Families In Central Ohio. Established In 1898, Godman Guild Is The Oldest Of Five Settlement Houses Serving Columbus, And An Active Member Of The Columbus Federation Of Settlements. Today, Godman Guild Association Focuses On Youth And Family Education And Workforce Development And Continues To Implement New And Creative Strategies To Ensure That Communities And Their Residents Are Always Moving Forward. ECONOMIC AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT - OUR PATHWAYS TO WORK PROGRAM IS A TRANSITIONAL EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES A SIMULATED JOB EXPERIENCE WHILE WORKING TO DEVELOP EMPLOYMENT SKILLS. THE WORK EXPERIENCE IS PAID AND SERVES AS AN EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE AND REFERENCE.GODMAN GUILD'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM PROVIDES ONE-ON-ONE JOB PLACEMENT SERVICES WHICH INCLUDE: JOB SEARCHES, CAREER PLANNING, PERSONAL MARKETING MATERIAL DEVELOPMENT, COACHING FOR MOCK AND INFORMATIONAL INTERVIEWING, SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AND REFERRALS, AND CASE MANAGEMENT. FOLLOW-UP AND JOB RETENTION SERVICES INCLUDE: CAREER COACHING, BARRIER REDUCTION, CASE MANAGEMENT, AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO SUPPORT CLIENT'S EMPLOYMENT RETENTION PLAN. THE GUILD OFFERS ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES HELP CLIENTS DEVELOP SKILLS NECESSARY TO OBTAIN GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT, AS WELL AS EARN GED'S AND OTHER RECOGNIZED SERVICE CREDENTIALS.IN WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, ADULT EDUCATION AND DMPLOYMENT SERVICES COMBINE PROGRAMMING EFFORTS TO HELP UNEMPLOYED, UNDEREMPLOYED, AND HARD-TO-EMPLOY INDIVIDUALS INCREASE ACADEMIC SKILLS, EARN INDUSTRY RECOGNIZED CREDENTIALS (E.G. GED, CUSTOMER SERVICE, SERVSAFE), PREPARE FOR POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION, INCREASE WORK READINESS SKILLS, COMPLETE JOB TRAINING/PLACEMENT/RETENTION PROGRAMS, AND PROGRESS ALONG A CAREER PATHWAY TO EARN INDIVIDUAL AND/OR FAMILY SUSTAINING WAGES.ADULT PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS HAVE A GOAL OF OBTAINING, RETAINING, AND IMPROVING EMPLOYMENT AND ARE IN NEED OF EMPLOYMENT TRAINING PROGRAMS, SUPPORT SERVICES, ACADEMIC SKILLS INSTRUCTION, AS WELL AS HIGH SCHOOL EQUIVALENCY AND ESOL CLASSES.
