IN ORDER TO ENSURE A SUPPLY OF TALENTED HEALTHCARE WORKERS DOWN THE ROAD, ALHF HAS ESTABLISHED A PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL GRANTS FROM $10,000 TO $30,000 TO LOCAL STUDENTS WITH COMMITMENTS TO RETURN TO THE HOSPITAL UPON GRADUATION. IN 2019, ALHF AWARDED 4 EDUCATIONAL GRANTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $35,000 EACH TO LOCAL NURSING STUDENTS. ALHF'S COMMUNITY HEALTH COLLABORATIVE HOUSES ALL COMMUNITY HEALTH INITIATIVES THAT EXTEND OUTSIDE THE WALLS OF ABRAHAM LINCOLN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL (ALMH). ITS VISION IS TO CREATE THE HEALTHIEST COMMUNITY IN THE NATION. CURRENT INITIATIVES INCLUDE THE ALMH MARKET PROVIDING ACCESS TO FRESH PRODUCE AND FREE HEALTH SCREENINGS TO ALL IN OUR COMMUNITY; THE COORDINATED APPROACH TO CHILD HEALTH (CATCH) PROGRAM PROMOTES HEALTHY EATING AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY IMPACTING OVER 3,500 LOCAL STUDENTS; SUBSTANCE USE PREVENTION EFFORTS; SUPPORTING THE MOSAIC PROGRAM WITH AN $85,000 GRANT THAT PROVIDES BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CONSULTANTS IN SCHOOLS TO PROMOTE MENTAL HEALTH; SUPPORTING DISTRICT 27 TO MOVE ITS FIVE CAFETERIAS FROM FROZEN AND PROCESSED FOOD TO FRESH LOCAL FOOD BY PROVIDING OVER $165,000 IN GRANTS, $65,000 WAS PROVIDED TO THE LOGAN COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS TO FUND A BATHROOM RENOVATION SERVING FARMERS MARKET CUSTOMERS AND FEATURING A LACATION SPACE, AND $60,000 SUPPORTING A LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT EFFORT TO ADDRESS SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LINCOLN COLLEGE.
