THE FIRE FAMILY FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN TIMES OF NEED.THE FOUNDATION BELIEVES THAT BY COMING TOGETHER AS A "FIRE FAMILY," WE CAN PROVIDE MEANINGFUL SUPPORT TO OUR FIREFIGHTERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE DRIVE TO CREATE THIS FOUNDATION EMANATED FROM THE DARK DAYS OF 9-11 WHEN WE LOST OVER 300 NEW YORK CITY FIREFIGHTERS, ALONG WITH THE LOSS OF A NUMBER OF LA CITY FIREFIGHTERS OVER THE YEARS, AS THEY VALIANTLY ATTEMPTED TO SAVE LIVES AND PROPERTY. THE IMPACT OF 9-11 AND THE LOSS OF THESE COURAGEOUS HEROS PROFOUNDLY IMPACTED THEIR FAMILIES, THE REST OF THE FIREFIGHTER COMMUNITY AND THE BROADER COMMUNITY-AT-LARGE.THE FIRE FAMILY FOUNDATION IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT WAS FOUNDED AND IS SUPPORTED BY THE RESPECTED FIREFIGHTERS FIRST FEDERAL CREDIT UNION, A TAX EXEMPT NONPROFIT FINANCIAL INSTITUTION EXCLUSIVELY SERVING FIREFIGHTERS AND THEIR FAMILIES NATIONWIDE.

FIREFIGHTERS OR THEIR FAMILIES FILL OUT AN APPLICATION TO RECEIVE SUPPORT FOR THINGS LIKE PAYING FOR MEDICAL BILLS OR DEVICES, RENT OR MORTGAGE PAYMENTS, OR SPECIALTY ITEMS LIKE A SERVICE ANIMAL.THE GOAL OF SUPPORTING OTHER FIRE CHARITIES IS TO FUND CHARITIES AND MAKE AN IMPACT IN AREAS OUTSIDE OF THE FOUNDATIONS TYPICAL SCOPE OF WORK.
