To bring fine symphonic and choral music to the Quincy area, to provide ensembles for local musicians to perform, and to offer programs that encourage young musicians' interest and skills in such music.

Symphony orchestra and chorus educates the public on the study and culture of instrumental and vocal music. Produced 6 concerts and a day of free in-school concerts for over 2,000 children (31 schools, 9 counties). Commissioned two composers to write four new orchestral works, two with chorus or youth chorus. Combined orch, chorus & youth chorus for concert with multimedia presentation of 'The Snowman.' Outreach: partnered with art center and public library, orchestra concert in Keokuk, IA, 400 books given away at family concert, instrument demos at QPL & a pre-school, children's activities, annual food drive, provided free admission for age 18 and under to all concerts (over 420 admissions) and discounts for senior citizens. Provided 10k audio upgrade for Quincy's Morrison Theater, a public school auditorium.
