During 52 weeks of shelter for the year 2018, MCREST provided up to 60 shelter beds per night for homeless persons for a total of over 20,696 shelter nights. MCREST provided participating churches with a training manual and related certification to provide homeless guests with consistent rules and regulations and to establish a systematic process for rotating shelters among various churches. The program also provided medical care, mental health counseling, and substance abuse counseling to shelter participants. MCREST was also able to help approximately 30 homeless individuals/families move into permanent housing by paying rent, security deposits, and utility bills on their behalf.
