About
Youth Wind Ensemble of Westchester is an ensemble of highly motivated high school students interested in playing music from the Wind Ensemble/Concert Band literature. The ensemble is comprised of Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion students from all around Westchester County and represents students from over a dozen different area high schools.
Mr. Bradley Morrison is the founder, conductor, and director of YWEW. He holds a Bachelors of Music degree in Music Education from the Fredonia School of Music at SUNY Fredonia, as well as a Masters Degree and an Advanced Diploma in Educational Leadership from Mercy College and The College of New Rochelle, respectively. Mr. Morrison currently works as the Director of Cultural Arts for the Ossining Union Free School District, where he oversees the Music, Art, and Theater curricula and programs for the over 4,500 students in the Ossining Schools. Mr. Morrison is a leader in music education at the local and state level. He is the Founder of the Rivertowns Middle School Honor Band and Orchestra Festival. He is president of the Westchester County Arts Leadership Association; president of the New York State Band Director's Association, and has previously served on the executive board of the Westchester County School Music Association. Mr. Morrison maintains active membership in the New York State School Music Association and the National Association for Music Education. He is active as a clinician and guest conductor throughout the region.
