UMOS, a non-profit advocacy organization, provides programs and services which improve the employment, educational, health and housing opportunities of under-served populations.
About
UMOS continues to operate several workforce development programs which provide employment and training opportunities to disadvantaged populations. The agency entered into its 21st year administering the Wisconsin Works (W-2) program which provides cash assistance to families while parents prepare for and look for employment. During fiscal year 2018-2019, UMOS placed more than 2,000 program participants into jobs. In addition, UMOS began its 9th year operating a transitional jobs program in Wisconsin and expanded its service delivery area beyond Milwaukee into northeastern Wisconsin, Racine County and central Wisconsin.
