Mission
Lake Superior Big Top Chautuaqua provides entertaining and educational cultural activities with an emphasis on performances that celebrate history and the environment. Every summer, Big Top hosts more than 50 performances in its one-of-a-kind canvas tent theater, the last in the nation. With grant and donor support, Big Top Chautauqua is also able to provide diverse programming and workshops for kids and families, such as the Native American Community Connections and Free Family Matinee Series, and scholarships for its Bluegrass Camp for Kids. Big Top's Blue Canvas Orchestra performs several original musical shows each summer and tours throughout the winter. Additionally, Big Top reaches millions of listeners nationwide through its publicly broadcast Tent Show Radio.
