FORT MADISON COMMUNITY HOSPITAL IS A GENERAL MEDICAL AND SURGICAL HOSPITAL, LOCATED IN FORT MADISON, IOWA, TO MEET THE HEALTHCARE NEEDS OF ITS COMMUNITIES AS WELL AS PROVIDE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES AIMED AT HEALTH, SAFETY, EDUCATION, PREVENTION, AND OVERALL HEALTH AND WELLNESS. THE 50 BED HOSPITAL HAD 1,288 PATIENT ADMISSIONS AND 3,300 PATIENT DAYS OF MEDICAL CARE. THIS INCLUDED 431 PATIENT ACCOUNTS WHO RECEIVED UNCOMPENSATED CARE. HEALTH SERVICES AND CARE PROVIDED BY FMCH INCLUDE: PHYSICIANS AND SURGEONS PRACTICING IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: FAMILY PRACTICE, INTERNAL MEDICINE, OBSTETRICS & GYNECOLOGY, ORTHOPEDICS & SPORTS MEDICINE, PEDIATRICS, PSYCHIATRY, SURGERY AND UROLOGY; BIRTHPLACE SERVICES; SPECIALTY CLINICS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: CARDIOLOGY, DERMATOLOGY, OTOLARYNGOLOGY, GASTROENTEROLOGY AND NEUROLOGY; EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT SERVICES; HOME HEALTH CARE; HOSPICE; REHABILITATION/THERAPY SERVICES; LABORATORY AND PATHOLOGY SERVICES; AND WOUND HEALING CARE.
