S.L.E.W. Wellness Center's (SLEW's) mission is to improve the emotional and physical health of uninsured, under-insured, and low-income women who are survivors of cancer, or who are undergoing cancer treatments, by offering programs to promote a better quality of life and long-term survival. SLEW is the ONLY agency in Bexar & surrounding counties to offer cancer survivorship services in a single location at NO COST TO CLIENTS. Operating since 2003, SLEW aids underserved women (low-income, elderly, disabled, and the working poor) with high incident rates and high mortality rates for cancer. Clients must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, and currently undergoing, or in recovery from, cancer treatment. In 2019, SLEW served 687 unduplicated clients with over 10,000 services.
