Community development - in order to attract, retain and expand businesses within the region, the GSDC is focused on building and developing the community through five strategic initiatives that support business development: 1) Improve access to the region by expanding the regional transportation infrastructure, GSDC successfully led efforts to secure $250,000 of funding to complete airport optimization study and implementation strategy for the St. Cloud Regional Airport. GDSC also collaborates with the I-94 West Coalition to promote continued expansion of I-94 from the Twin Cities to the St. Cloud region. 2) GSDC successfully launched and continues to build out a regional talent portal and regional branding initiative. 3) GSDC led efforts to forge a partnership with SCSU and CentraCare Health and to raise significant funding to launch and advance a workplace wellbeing initiative. 4) GSDC partnered with the Downtown Council on an initiative to pursue creation and implementation of a downtown improvement district and to explore opportunities for an enhanced level of organizational alignment. 5) GSDC solicited and recognized 4 companies/organizations with innovation awards. GSDC also partnered in leading the successful execution of TEDx St. Cloud 2018.
