Mission

WMAAC Residencies invites students to move, investigate, create and reflect, growing their kinesthetic sense, physical strength, as well as encouraging confidence and a sense of individuality. Starting with a basic foundation, our integrated enrichment program gives children the skills to express themselves emotionally, intellectually, socially, and physically-directly enhancing their academic work and general development. In our program, students begin to define their sense of self, solve problems, cooperate, gain confidence, value individual differences, and explore the cultures of the world. Our goal is to motivate, enhance and teach skills that contribute to their well being for a lifetime.

About

In September of 2017, WMAAC Residencies acquired the Afternoon General & Pre-Professional Dance program of our sister for-profit organization Williamsburg Movement & Arts Center. As their mission and focus shifted to offering Arts-In-Education programing within the schools and during school hours only, WMAAC Residencies took over afternoon programing so to continue offering the North Brooklyn community spaces to support pre-professional dance training for their children. With this acquisition, the number of serviced students nearly doubled growing from 257 students to 469.
