Effective June 1, 2016, Dignity Health assigned, transferred and otherwise conveyed all rights, title and interest in and to all assets and properties, and related liabilities, of St. Joseph's Medical Center (SJMC) to Port City Operating Company, LLC (Port City). In return, Dignity Health retained 80% ownership of Port City and management rights to SJMC. Kaiser Foundation Hospitals bought in, for valued received, the remaining 20% ownership of Port City. SJMC is a 355-bed licensed acute care facility, providing general medical/ surgical care, obstetrics, neonatal ICU, emergency services, cancer services, with specialties in cardiac surgery and cardiovascular care, respiratory, and orthopedics.
