Mission

Alabama Game Changers (AGC) is a not-for-profit organization created to identify children with dyslexia in Alabama. While there is a wealth of learning centers in the community, currently there is a deficit in available resources which specifically address dyslexia. AGC is staffed by both medical and educational professionals who are committed to early identification, appropriate remediation, assistance and advocacy for children and adults who are affected by this learning disability. Once dyslexia has been identified, parents and students are offered education about dyslexia and instruction on how to obtain appropriate resources for the learning challenges ahead. They are connected to local tutors who are experienced in Orton-Gillingham based intervention. AGC also provides community learning opportunities and dyslexia simulation experiences. AGC's goal is to fully equip parents and students to become informed advocates.
