About

The Coalition for Public Safety (CPS), the nation's largest bipartisan coalition addressing criminal justice reform, leveraged its partners to launch educational campaigns geared towards the general public, advocates, law enforcement, and policy leaders. CPS gathered justice reform advocates, second-chance employers, and system-impacted people for a Celebration of Second Chances in Lexington, Kentucky, and provided interactive experiences for members of the general public on the impact of the justice system and recent reforms on their local communities. In September, CPS gathered advocates and legislators in Nashville, Tennessee, to educate policymakers on the need for criminal justice reform. CPS also sponsored a basketball camp for children experiencing parental incarceration in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and worked with We Got Us Now to produce a video highlighting their experiences. CPS partnered with other nonprofit organizations to host summits and forums to reach diverse audiences and share information on key criminal justice issues.CPS also disseminated criminal justice information through media interviews, informational meetings with high-level media figures and influences, and employing rapid response tactics for relevant criminal justice events. Through social media platforms, the organization highlighted partner organizations working on criminal justice issues and directed followers to relevant breaking news.
