Open Up Resources is a nonprofit organization increasing equity in education by incubating and disseminating the highest quality curriculum coupled with implementation supports to the broadest number of teachers to empower them to effectively and sustainably improve student outcomes in pre-K-12 English Language Arts and Mathematics.

IN 2018, OUR IMPACTED NEARLY 500,000 CHILDREN. A YEAR AGO, IT WAS 54,000 CHILDREN. OUR IS EXPERIENCING RAPID GROWTH IN REVENUE, FROM APPROXIMATELY $6 MILLION IN 2017 TO ALMOST $40 MILLION IN 2018, AND IN PRODUCT PORTFOLIO, MOVING FROM TWO CURRICULUM OFFERINGS IN 2017 TO THREE IN 2018; THE ADDITION OF HIGH SCHOOL MATH ADDS A FOURTH CURRICULA BEING OFFERED TO DISTRICTS IN SUMMER, 2019. OUR HAS QUICKLY ESTABLISHED ITSELF AS A MARKET LEADER, AND THE BEST MEASURE OF THAT LEADERSHIP IS THE NUMBER OF DOORS THAT ARE OPENING FOR THE ORGANIZATION, WITH NEW CURRICULUM PROVIDERS SEEKING PARTNERSHIP WITH OUR, HOPING TO LEVERAGE ITS STRONG BRAND AND SALES/MARKETING EXECUTION.OUR WILL CONTINUE TO WORK WITH CURRICULUM PARTNERS AND SCALE TO SUPPORT MORE DISTRICTS. AS THEY LOOK TO BRING ON NEW CURRICULUM AUTHORING PARTNERS, THE PARTNERS MUST BE:- MISSION-ALIGNED- CAPABLE OF AUTHORING BEST-IN-CLASS CONTENT- OPEN TO ROBUST QUALITY ASSURANCE BY OUR IN THE REFINEMENT OF CONTENT- COMFORTABLE WITH AN OPEN EDUCATION RESOURCES (OER) MODEL- SATISFIED WITH A ROYALTY ON GROSS REVENUES MODEL THAT IS MORE GENEROUS THAN TRADITIONAL PUBLISHING, AND BALANCED IN THEIR APPROACH TO THE DISTRIBUTION LANDSCAPE AND EXCLUSIVITYAS THEY SCALE, OUR BELIEVES IT MUST HAVE A GROWING BENCH OF HIGH-QUALITY PROFESSIONAL LEARNING PROVIDERS, OFFERING A DIVERSE RANGE OF SERVICES. THEY ROUTINELY VET THESE PROVIDERS TO CONTINUALLY ENSURE THAT THEY ARE EXCELLENT AND EFFECTIVE.OUR IS CREATING STRONG USER COMMUNITIES TO FOSTER SUPPORT AND COLLABORATION AMONGST EDUCATORS. THE GOAL OF THEIR COMMUNITY WORK IS TO FOSTER EDUCATOR SUCCESS WITH OUR MATERIALS, IN HOPES THAT THIS SUPPORTS THE TRACTION OF THE CURRICULUM. THEY ARE SEEING INSPIRING THINGS HAPPENING WITH THE COMMUNITY WORK TO DATE AS TEACHERS SHARE RESOURCES, GET PEER-TO-PEER SUPPORT, AND RALLY AROUND EACH OTHER TO SUCCESSFULLY LIFT THE GRADE 6-8 MATH CURRICULUM.MAJOR SALES ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN 2018 INCLUDE ADOPTIONS IN THREE MAJOR DISTRICTS WHO HAD PURCHASED TRADITIONAL PUBLISHERS' PROGRAMS IN THE PAST. THESE THREE DISTRICTS ACCOUNTED FOR $11.6 MILLION IN GROSS REVENUE. SHELBY COUNTY, TENNESSEE ($7.8 MILLION), DETROIT, MICHIGAN ($2.7 MILLION) AND WAKE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA ($1.1 MILLION).
