About
The American Foundation (AFNMS) is proud to maintain its vital source of support for National Museums Scotland. The museums care for and promote access to Scotland's national collections in four museums throughout Scotland: the National Museum of Scotland and National War Museum, both in Edinburgh; the National Museum of Flight in East Lothian and the National Museum of Rural Life near East Kilbride. The primary exempt purpose of American Foundation for the National Museums Scotland is to support Scottish museums. The cash grants in 2019 supported the curatorial preparator post ($60,000), the Adventure Planet Gallery ($106,785), the Galloway Hoard ($14,655), the Umbria Madonna Project ($11,060) and the Wild and Majestic Exhibition ($500). In addition, a longcase clock (c. 1780 - 1790) was donated to the National Museums Scotland ($12,000 value).
