IT IS THE MISSION, DUTY AND PURPOSE OF PINELANDS GROUP HOMES, INC. TO PROVIDE SAFE, HIGH QUALITY SERVICES TO ADOLESCENTS, FAMILIES AND THEIR SIGNIFICANT OTHERS THAT WILL ADDRESS, EDUCATE, COORDINATE, COUNSEL, AND PROVIDE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES TO NEGLECTED,ABUSED, AND DELINQUENT ADOLESCENTS. THE GOAL IS TO RETURN THE ADOLESCENT TO A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT.IT IS OUR DUTY TO WORK WITH ADOLESCENTS TO ADDRESS AND RESOLVE CONFLICT IN THEIR LIVES RELATED TO NEGLECT AND/OR ABUSE. IF ADOLESCENTS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE HOME, OUR WORK FOCUSES ON REUNIFICATION WITH THE FAMILY. ADOLESCENTS EXPERIENCING CONFLICT AND DEMONSTRATING VIOLENCE AND AGGRESSION LEARN OTHER WAYS TO RESPONSIBLY DEAL WITH THE ANGER AND PAIN OF IDENTIFIED TRAUMA.THE THERAPEUTIC MILIEU IS DESIGNED TO TEACH PREVENTATIVE SKILLS TO THE ADOLESCENT IN ORDER FOR THEM TO FACE LIFE'S CHALLENGES. IT ALSO INSPIRES GROWTH AS THE ADOLESCENT DISCOVERS PERSONAL STRENGTHS, AND OFFERS A HOLISTIC, CLIENT-CENTERED APPROACH WHILE RECOGNIZING CULTURAL DIFFERENCES.ACTIVITIES ARE CARRIED OUT AND LED BY THE EMPLOYEES OF THE ORGANIZATION. ALL ACTIVITIES ARE CONDUCTED ON THE PREMISES OF THE FACILITY AS WELL AS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY.IN 2019 PGH SERVED 116 CLIENTS. DURING THE YEAR,- CRITICAL INCIDENT REPORTS DECREASED BY ANOTHER 5% FROM 2018- BED CAPACITY WAS 99%- ACCEPTED 706 REFERALS FOR ADMISSION, ACCEPTED 197 AND ADMITTED 119- AVERAGE LENGTH OF STAY WAS 4 MONTHS- DISCHARGED 95 CLIENTS, OF WHICH 33% WERE CLASSIFIED AS SUCCESSFUL; 61% WERE ADMINISTRATIVE MEANING THEY WERE RECOMMENDED FOR A HIGHER LEVEL OF CARE, RETUNED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF JUVENILE JUSTICE, OR REACHED MAXIMUM BENEFIT WITH NO BEHAVIOR CHANGE- CLIENTS PARTICIPATED IN PLANNED PARENTHOOD GROUPS AND HEALING SPECIES. WELLS FARGO CONDUCTED A BANKING GROUP. BIBLE STUDY CONDUCTED 2 TIMES A MONTH.- CLIENTS PARTICIPATED IN JAMES ISLAND ROPES COURSE TO TEACH TEAMWORK AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS.- 11 CLIENTS COMPLETED THE GED AND 1 CLIENT GRADUATED WITH A DIPLOMA FROM HIGH SCHOOL; 75% CLIENTS WERE PROMOTED TO THE NEXT GRADE; 90% CREDITS EARNED- CLIENTS PARTICIPATED IN MUSIC THERAPY AND EQUINE THERAPY.- IMPLEMENTED AN EVIDENCED BASED CURRICULUM FOR GANG INVOLVEMENT AND ANGER MANAGEMENT
