THE BLOOM CLOSET IS A RESOURCE CENTER FOR CLOTHING AND OTHER NECESSITIES FOR CHILDREN LIVING IN FOSTER CARE IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA. IMAGINE BEING A YOUNG PERSON WHO SUDDENLY WAS REMOVED FROM HOME BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND CHILDREN'S SERVICES. IT IS LIKELY THAT YOU ARE SCARED, CONFUSED, AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, YOU LEAVE YOUR HOME WITHOUT ANY POSSESSIONS. BLOOM BELIEVES THAT CHILDREN DESERVE TO FEEL AND LOOK THEIR BEST AND PROVIDES AN IMMEDIATE AND DIRECT RESOURCE THROUGH THE BLOOM CLOSET.ESTABLISHED IN 2008, THE BLOOM CLOSET PROVIDES NEW OR GENTLY USED CLOTHING, TOYS, AND SUPPLIES FOR FOSTER YOUTH AT NO CHARGE. TO FURTHER ENHANCE THE EXPERIENCE, THE BLOOM CLOSET IS SET UP TO FEEL LIKE AN EXCLUSIVE BOUTIQUE. IT IS A FUN ENVIRONMENT WHERE CHILDREN ARE ENCOURAGED TO TAKE A WEEK'S WORTH OF ITEMS AND IF MORE ITEMS ARE DESIRED, BLOOM HAPPILY ACCOMMODATES THE REQUEST. IN FISCAL YEAR ENDED 2018, OVER 3,800 FOSTER CHILDREN FROM 90 GEORGIA COUNTIES WERE SERVED AT THE BLOOM CLOSET.
