COMMUNITY SERVICES - ADMINISTERS MANY FEDERALLY AND LOCALLY FUNDED PROJECTS. FEDERAL PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT. THIS GRANT PROVIDES FUNDS TO ASSIST LOW-INCOME PEOPLE WITH SELF-SUFFICIENCY, IMPROVED LIVING CONDITIONS, STRENGTHENED FAMILY RELATIONS, AND OTHER SUPPORTIVE SERVICES. THE CHILDREN?S ADVOCACY CENTER OF HERNANDO COUNTY IS DEDICATED TO REDUCING TRAUMA TO VICTIMS OF CHILD ABUSE AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH INTERVENTION, PREVENTION AND EDUCATION. THE AGENCY ALSO PROVIDES SERVICES THROUGH THE FAMILY VISITATION OF HERNANDO COUNTY, A SAFE, NURTURING HOME-LIKE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH CHILDREN MAY VISIT WITH THEIR PARENTS, SIBLINGS AND FAMILY MEMBERS WHEN CONTACT HAS BEEN RESTRICTED BY COURT ACTION.
